We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, hands-on SQL DBA to join our infrastructure team! As our DBA, you will be reporting directly to the Director of IT Infrastructure & Hosting operations and will be key to the success of delivering itim’s private cloud offering to our SaaS-based customers.

What would be my main responsibilities?

  • To work closely with our solution architects and internal development teams
  • To architect, implement and support database availability
  • To always consider database security and to apply sensible best practices wherever possible
  • Participation in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure
  • To monitor performance and manage parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users

Job requirements

What we’d like from you

  • A minimum of 5 years total SQL experience
  • A strong desire to work as part of a team that embrace’s technology and business change
  • You must have a genuine interest in tech & the tech industry. 
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL 2005 up to SQL 2019
  • Working experience with MDX, SSAS, SSIS and SSRS
  • Experience with Windows Server 2008 - 2016
  • The ability to prioritise and cope with a changing environment
  • Experience of T-SQL

Desired Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of Senior or high-level Database Engineer/DBA experience
  • Recent experience of RedGate SQL tools
  • Recent experience and exposure Pii locating and associated GDPR regulations
  • Knowledge of SQL availability groups
  • Knowledge of Powershell, SQL R, C# and Python
  • Awareness of legal compliance and standards including PCI DSS, GDPR
  • To have achieved, Microsoft MCP

Salary: £55k - £60k
