We are looking for a dynamic merchandisers who has a keen interest in utilising innovative software solutions to improve retail business processes to join our team as a Business Analyst! We are looking for a bright, confident and driven individuals who want to take their retail expertise into a new, transformational and forward-thinking sector with the opportunity to truly develop your career in the modern world of retail technology. 

This is an exciting and varied role where you will work closely with our Application Manager in supporting our notable high street retail clients in the implementation, adoption and new product development of itim's powerful and best-in-class omnichannel solutions - solutions that are at the forefront of the exciting shift in retail software: real-time stock visibility, omnichannel stock management, modern-day order orchestration and clever AI data insights technology. 

To be effective in this Business Analyst role, you will already have great expertise and knowledge in retail business processes, as well as strong numerical analysis coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills. This role would suit dynamic merchandisers, inventory planners or system orientated retail professionals who can bring their industry expertise to contribute significantly to itim’s continued growing success with fantastic opportunities to further develop and expand your career.

What would be my main responsibilities?

The main responsibilities are generally split equally between client projects (implementations and software upgrades) and our internal product development programme:

  • Support in the client project analysis and design by identifying and documenting how their business processes can be supported by our highly customisable and flexible omni-channel software
  • Support with carrying out key gap analysis to identify product development, custom development and custom integration requirements.
  • Analyse, understand and document business functions, using modelling software and defined standards.
  • Document existing and new business processes and workflows with high levels of complexity.
  • Become an expert for our solution and work closely with support analysts to help in 3rd line support for your assigned functions. The candidate should be a natural problem solver and these skills will be put to use if support issues are escalated from the support team.
  • Support with testing requirements for complex projects involving interfaces with sub-systems
  • Test software releases against functional specifications, using a methodical approach - ensuring quality delivery of software into our demonstration and client environments.
  • Create and manage the execution of test plans throughout the project life cycle for projects with high levels of complexity.
  • Review and improve business processes
  • Contribute to the development of our product, suggesting ideas for improvement and innovation
  • Develop training guides and user manuals
  • Communicate effectively with any internal or external stakeholders

Job requirements

What we’d like from you

  • At least 3 years of experience in a retail head office function. In particular:
    • o Experience with reporting tools and data validation
      o Involved in the review and improvement of business processes
  • Understanding of retail head office functions and how they interact with the business 
  • Have a genuine interest in software development and systems with a passion for data and information
  • Strong skills in:
      o Microsoft Excel e.g. Pivot Tables, Data imports and VLookup
      o Microsoft Word
      o (Bonus) Microsoft Access, Microsoft Visio and Microsoft SQL

  • A completer finisher with strong organisational and analytical skills with a meticulous approach to detail
  • A team player who thrives off supporting and working with others
  • Be a positive, adaptable and dynamic individual with good interpersonal skills that values strong collaboration and a connected company culture 
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal coupled with a professional demeanour
  • Comfortable with carrying out routine tasks
  • Self-motivated team player with a hands-on, ‘can-do’ attitude towards every aspect of the job and is happy to work flexibly according to the business needs and adjust priorities at short notice

Location: Hybrid - Working From Home / 1 day working from our London Victoria Office

Salary: Dependent on Experience, circa £35k
