We have a brilliant opportunity for a General Manager / MD to lead our exciting and well-established EDI business. We are seeking a strong people leader who possesses the business and commercial acumen to drive the business forward and accelerate its growth. We are looking for someone who would be confident running the business autonomously with the role providing all the advantages of running an independent business but also the additional advantages of being part of a wider public group organisation.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience leading and managing other businesses, have an excellent ability to effectively communicate, develop and motivate a small team and have the appropriate technical know-how and understanding to confidently communicate with technical individuals.

Role Responsibilities 

  • Ensure the business continually represents a service ethos where the customer comes first
  • Oversee daily business operations to ensure excellent service delivery
  • Evolve the business as technology and requirements change to ensure we remain competitive and innovative
  • Work closely with the sales team to identify and satisfy new and expanding business opportunities
  • Be in charge of setting project and subscription charges and overseeing client billing
  • Take part in contract negotiations including checking and countersigning contracts
  • Recruit new talented individuals into the business to help sustain the businesses advantage
  • Manage staff effectively and perform regular appraisals and salary reviews
  • Control business costs
  • Set data security, privacy and protection standards ensuring compliance at all times
  • Produce relevant company reports and management documents as required
  • Select, manage and liaise with suppliers building ongoing positive relationships
  • Represent the company to the highest standard in discussions with clients and trade bodies
  • Communicate the ethos and brand standards to all staff, and monitor compliance

  • Have good financial acumen with the ability to analyse financial detail
  • Be able to develop and maintain friendly, professional relationships with major clients
  • Be comfortable in an IT and software business services environment
  • Have excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Have solid organisational skills including high attention to detail and multi-tasking
  • Be a positive, adaptable and dynamic individual that values strong communication and collaboration

The following would be a great advantage:

  • A technical IT background
  • Experience working in a cloud-based business with solid knowledge of IT operations, systems and networks
  • Experience managing or working closely with development and technical teams
  • Experience and knowledge of SaaS businesses

Negotiable Salary: Depending on Experience
